The Light and The Artist – Mircopoetry

The light wavers from beyond
The artist
a silhouette against the light
builds the setting
of words and worlds to come

Dreaming of Hope by Nada Adel Sobhi - Poem

Let the light flow in,
Fill my mind,
Flood my soul
With warmth,
Love,
Hope.

Awaken my numbed senses
From the darkness of despair,
The raging anger
Attacking my brain,
Sealing it inside itself
In a never-ending cycle.

Fill my heart with light,
Power,
Love!

FLOOD MY SOUL!

I close my eyes,
Smile involuntarily
An object appears in my periphery,
Somewhere far off.
The light falls to the background.

My smile widens
As my dreams take flight

Wind chimes jingle nearby
The sun begins to set,
An eagle soars above me,
Passing majestically by

In my mind's eye
And my soul within
I smile,
Love,
And dream.

Enter the Light – A Takhayyal poem

Let the light seep in,
Softly treading on my skin,
Steps gently falling,
Slowly awakening my numb limbs

My eyes begin to see colours:
Of gold and green,
Blue and orange

Warmth,
A feeling long buried, forgotten
Colour
Streams through my being,
Singing a melody,
Washing away the greyness
Of my world.

Purple, pink and blue
Bathe me, bathe me,
Lights of every hue,
Awaken my soul
Within the crumbling walls
Of this human shell,
Replenish this drained body

Green, orange, lemon, peach
Revive my senses
Encase me in your colourful warmth
Make me get up
And breathe once again.

Searching for the Fire

My fire is faltering,
My soul smouldering
But into a failing haze
Not a bright flagrant blaze

Foggy eyes despite the light
Tear-blurred vision,
A faltering will to fight,
No choice, no decision

The bells chime
As the cage door unseals;
It's time for the mountain climb
But there I stand; from progress I reel.

***

Darkness soothes me,
But not this kind,
For there are two.
I'm stuck in stale darkness,
Not fluid and free

I need air
To blow me away
I need fire
To burn it all into oblivion
To keep me warm
Amidst sight-blurring change

I need…

To become me once again.

Darkness & Light

A faint glimmer
In the distance,
Metallic it appears,
Capable of resistance.

Dark shadows loom,
A suppressed sun struggles
Against the gloom;
The metal begins to bloom.

The forces of darkness gather,
But light resists,
Several faint glimmers coming together;
The light persists.

In this sea of black and in contempt,
The sun gathers all its might in one final attempt,
Exploding in a dance of light,
The metal reflects it and shines bright.

A connection has been made,
Between the earth and sky;
Now the light will never fade,
Nor will it ever die.

This poem is inspired by this week's prompt SILVER. It is five sentences long ;)
