Thousands gather under a
golden ornate roof
To pray to the one and
only Allah.
I see masses of men and
women
From all walks of life,
From all lands of this
earth,
From all races, from all
colours,
Dressed in beige, orange
and blue,
In shades of every hue;
Different languages,
different faces,
All under one roof,
All praying to Allah,
All seeking his
forgiveness for their sins,
Seeking a place in his
promised Paradise.
Some sit under the
mosque's golden roof,
Others underneath the golden
sun;
Tens of thousands paying
homage to Allah.

This piece was inspired by
the Prophet's Mosque (Al-Masjid Al-Nabawy) in Al-Madinah, in the Kingdom of Saudi
Arabia. But it can also be applied to Al-Masjid Al-Haram in Makkah, though I
was inspired to write this before going to Makkah.
Absolutely riveting. Loved this poem, especially the feeling instilled through the colour "golden" and the combination of unity and diversity through "all." Definitely beautiful; wonderfully written.
