March is the month when the world begins to shift from Winter to Spring, not bringing the woes of climate change here but it's a reminder of change, growth, and a journey to beauty. 

I took this image from a friend a while back but I felt it's destined for March. March 2020.

January, the beginning of the New Year

January is when we all mull over new beginnings with new aspirations and hopes. So, on that line, I bring you the first writing prompt of 2020.

I think I first saw this image as a mobile background cover but I felt it was the perfect start to the year.

The rules?

Look at the image and let it inspire you.

You can write in any language or form (but comments will be on English and Arabic writing, since those are the languages that I know). You can include lines from other languages like French, German, or Italian but I'll just be guessing ;)

The newest image has a bit of spring and for some reason reminds me of the introduction of Nightwish's song "While Your Lips Are Still Red."

The month of May this year coincides with the holy Muslim month of fasting, Ramadan. I found this image I had saved a while back to be the perfect celebration and means of inspiration where hundreds of millions of people come together to fast and be united.

You're free to interpret the image as you see fit. May be take your Muse in an oriental realm? Or imagine what it would be like to be surrounded by these beautiful lanterns? What about characters? What does their seller think, feel, or even want in life?

While T.S. Eliot believed April was "the cruelest month" I think we can all beg to differ as we shed of the cold months and venture into some warmth. Hmmm?

For this month's prompt, I'm borrowing the image from cozy mystery author Amy M. Reade, whom I've previously featured on Nadaness In Motion in a guest post on writing titled "Researching a Book in a Far-Flung Setting."

The image just spoke to me – probably because I've never been in a country with snow before… I think many across the United States have seen storms this year, so this is your opportunity to tell the world about them and shed them off onto the page (and this blog post).

Oh, and the prompt title "Wailing Winter Wonderland" was a line in Kamelot's amazing song "Temples of Old."
