About Me

Who am I?

I’m Nada Adel Sobhi, an Egyptian, born in 1988, in Cairo, Egypt. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature, Cairo University, in 2009.

I write poetry, flash fiction, short stories and sometimes uncategorised prose. In 2015, I launched my  picture prompt writing series called Takhayyal, which is Arabic for Imagine.
You can find the full list of past prompts as well as the details for getting your work featured for a month here.

I'm currently the Marketing and Operations Manager of Best Book Briefings, where we summarise books in a host of fields, including but not limited to sales and marketing, education, management, leadership, creativity, technology, and psychology.

I'm also a freelance writer and journalist. Feel free to check out my writing samples via Contently.

Before that, I was the Managing Editor of the English News section of the Middle East's leading financial news website Mubasher.info.

Me in a nutshell: Poet; writer; bookworm; book reviewer; book blogger; translator; a bit of a feminist; dog lover with no dog; lover of magic, nature, mythology; lover of wolves and horses; lover of books and chocolate, books and chocolate and more books and chocolate!

More about Me

From 2006 to 2015, I was the Editor-in-Chief of my English department's poetry and creative writing  magazine The Muse. I also hosted several poetry recitals between 2011 and 2015.

Since 2010, I have been working as a Translator with the English-Arabic-English language pairs. I studied a bit of German in the hopes of adding it to my language pairs and because I love learning languages.

I was the Editor-in-Chief of HR Revolution Middle East magazine from 2015 until 2016, an online magazine focused on the work and HR fields in Egypt in particular and the world as whole. More about us here

I was a book reviewer with Author Alliance in 2013 and 2014 and now I provide book reviews through submissions to my email.
